Away from the flashing cameras of the red carpet, the real guest of honour at our annual ShowBoats party made an unassuming arrival…
Fresh from its Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show launch, the Azimut Verve 40 weekender gracefully approached the event's mansion venue before mooring up in front of a dramatic Floridian sunset – it was a truly head-turning moment for the guests.
We interviewed Federico Ferrante, president of Azimut Benetti USA, to find out why this particular boat is such a show-stopper.
Ferrante explained to us that because the Verve 40 is “extremely focussed on the American market”, FLIBS was the perfect place to introduce it, as it will be targeting its primary US customer base while also reaching an international audience thanks to the show's global appeal.
What makes the boat so attractive globally is that it packs in so much more than a standard dayboat – “offering a lower deck that has a cabin, a full galley and a dinette that transforms into another queen-size berth, makes it a very unique concept”, says Ferrante. It’s for this reason that the Verve 40 has earned the status of a ‘weekender’ – you can enjoy group adventures and discover new destinations safe in the knowledge that you can comfortably stay on board should you still be out exploring come nightfall.
Not only is it more versatile than your typical walk-around day-cruiser, it is also exceptionally fast with a top speed of 45 knots thanks to its triple 350-horsepower Mercury Verado outboards. “Combining the performance and sturdiness of a sportfish but with all the entertainment aspects of an Azimut yacht, it is completely designed around having a great time with family and friends", Ferrante concludes.
Expressing timeless Italian style and encouraging a sociable, alfresco lifestyle, this would be the perfect tender for a superyacht owner who can appreciate the Verve 40's modern yet elegant design, but most importantly, wants to have a lot of fun with it.
