Now in its third year, the Mediterranean Superyacht Forum will return to Palma de Mallorca on 28–29 April 2026 with the ambition to function as a strategic platform for collaboration, problem-solving and long-term industry shaping.
Born from the success of the Balearic Superyacht Forum, the Mediterranean Superyacht Forum represents a natural evolution of that concept, expanding both its geographic scope and its strategic purpose. Where its predecessor focused on strengthening the Balearic Islands as a superyacht hub, the Mediterranean Superyacht Forum broadens that ambition to reflect the Mediterranean’s growing role as an operational ecosystem for the global fleet.
In this framing, the region is no longer seen purely as a cruising destination, but as an infrastructure network where refit capacity, marina development, workforce availability, sustainability compliance and regulatory frameworks are interconnected. Decisions made in one part of this system increasingly shape outcomes across the entire value chain, making the region central to how the industry evolves globally.
“The Mediterranean Superyacht Forum was created to move the industry conversation from observation to action," explains Pedro Suasi, cluster manager at Balearic Marine Cluster and founder of the Mediterranean Superyacht Forum. "It’s about bringing the right people into the room and giving them the space to work through real challenges together."
From conference model to strategic platform
Structurally, the Mediterranean Superyacht Forum is deliberately designed to move away from the conventional conference model. It does not present itself as a programme of panels and presentations, but as a strategic platform for industry engagement.
Its agenda is developed through ongoing dialogue with stakeholders across the superyacht sector, allowing the content to reflect real operational pressures rather than abstract trends. The emphasis is placed on collaboration and outcome generation, with formats built to encourage dialogue between sectors that do not always naturally intersect. Rather than separating shipyards, marinas, operators, managers, designers, brokers, investors and innovators into parallel conversations, the Forum structure is designed to bring them into shared spaces, where challenges are addressed as system-level issues rather than isolated problems.
A defining feature of the Mediterranean Superyacht Forum is its focus on high-level participation. The Forum is curated to attract owners’ representatives, CEOs, directors and senior decision-makers from across the superyacht value chain. "Attendance is curated through targeted invitations, partnerships and controlled access. The Forum is designed for senior professionals with decision-making capacity, and this is reflected in both the agenda and how the event is positioned," says Suasi.
Core industry themes shaping the 2026 agenda
For 2026, the Mediterranean Superyacht Forum has refined its programme around three core strategic pillars, each addressing a different layer of the yachting ecosystem. These pillars are explored through a series of Small Group Sessions (SGS) designed to move beyond opinion-led debate and into structured, expert-led discussion. The insights and conclusions generated during these sessions are then carried forward into the thematic think tanks taking place on the second day.
The first pillar, Destination Strategy, examines yachting as part of a wider territorial, economic and social ecosystem rather than an isolated activity. These discussions address governance, narrative, long-term planning and destination identity. Sessions explore the real economic and social impact of yachting on destinations, why some regions succeed despite similar infrastructure, and how destinations can prepare for the evolving needs of the industry over the next decade.
Business Strategy forms the second pillar of the programme, addressing the internal challenges faced by companies operating across the yachting value chain. As project complexity increases and the sector becomes more capitalised, discussions focus on how businesses can remain competitive over the long term. Topics include digitalisation and technology in refit and project management, talent as a strategic differentiator, organisational structures that create value beyond the founder, and the impact of public and private capital on control and strategy.
The third pillar, Commercial Strategy, focuses on how value is defined in today’s yachting market. Discussions move beyond generic sales narratives to examine the mechanisms that truly influence decision-making, positioning and long-term growth. Attention is given to who holds influence at different stages of the commercial process, how products, services and experiences are differentiated in a crowded market, and where commercial resources are most effectively invested.
The second day features moderated roundtable discussions that draw together insights from the previous day's sessions. These discussions are designed as mechanisms for shared understanding, helping different parts of the industry align around common challenges and future priorities. Throughout both days, the programme structure prioritises meaningful interaction, with networking breaks integrated into the flow of the event.
Beyond the two-day event itself, the Mediterranean Superyacht Forum is structured as a year-round platform. Whitepapers, follow-up content, industry insights and working groups extend the Forum’s influence beyond April so that it is an ongoing collaborative framework rather than a standalone gathering.
To further contextualise this year's programme, the organisers of the Mediterranean Superyacht Forum will host a webinar in which they will formally unveil the themes of the SGS. The session will explore the thinking behind the SGS structure, explain how the discussions are designed to function and outline why these formats play a central role in the Forum's strategic approach.
