New Superyacht Marina Opens in Canouan

15 January 2020

Not sure where to take your yacht this holiday season? For those in search of some winter sun, Canouan has a new marina now welcoming superyachts to the island.

With the Caribbean season now in full swing, the usual haunts of St Barths and the Bahamas are busy with yacht owners and charterers hoping to escape colder climes. But Canouan island in St Vincent and the Grenadines, with its newly renovated marina, offers an alternative retreat as yet undiscovered by the superyacht crowds.

The idyllic island of Canouan belongs to St Vincent and the Grenadines.

The verdant isle of Canouan is located just 20 miles south of Mustique and 110 miles west of Barbados. But the prime location of Canouan is certainly not the only selling point. On the south-western tip of the reef-encircled island, Sandy Lane Yacht Club has just unveiled luxurious facilities well-equipped for hosting superyacht visitors. The fully serviced marina, with 120 berths able to accommodate superyachts up to 100 metres in length, has now made Canouan even more accessible for those arriving by boat.

Sandy Lane Yacht Club now offers 120 berths for yachts up to 100 metres.

Sandy Lane not only provides all the necessary services and equipment for superyachts and their crew. The marina’s plush accommodation, retail opportunities, sleek gym and sport courts and a selection of lively restaurants make Sandy Lane an attraction in its own right.

While superyachts are securely docked at Sandy Lane, yacht owners and charter guests can explore the idyllic Caribbean island. Despite its petite size (3 square miles), Canouan boasts an array of white sand beaches and luxe attractions, from the pink-tipped Mandarin Oriental hotel and spa to Canouan Estate’s 18-hole golf course designed by Jim Fazio. The crystal-clear waters surrounding Canouan boast an abundance of marine life, making the region ideal for snorkelling and diving enthusiasts too. Back at the marina, crew with some time to spare are invited to relax and soak up the sun at Scruffy’s crew bar before their guests return.

Visitors to Canouan Island can take advantage of the Jim Fazio-designed golf course

Strategically positioned near the breathtaking Tobago Cays Marine Park, Canouan offers the perfect superyacht stop-off for a Caribbean cruise. After Sandy Lane’s makeover, the island is now more open than ever before to visitors from afar. Book your berth at Sandy Lane Yacht Club now.
