YPI on the unmissable 2017 Fort Lauderdale Boat Show

24 October 2017

One of the most important boat shows in the world, The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) showcases the best yachts on the market and brings together the biggest names in the industry in America’s key yachting hub.

This year’s FLIBS, taking place from November 1-5, comes amid a buoyant US market, which looks set to continue this season as high attendance is predicted at the show. More than 120 superyachts over 30 metres will be displayed this year, including many outstanding examples of the work from the top shipyards AmelsFeadshipLürssen and Oceanco.

High numbers predicted for the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show

“This year’s Fort Lauderdale Show will be a great opportunity for us to catch up with new and existing clients in the USA and show them around some of the exceptional yachts on display,” said Matt Albert, senior sales broker at YPI. “The US market is healthy, and sales have been strong over the last few years.” With insight gleaned from decades in the industry, Albert and his colleagues in the YPI brokerage team will be attending the show to offer clients a detailed knowledge of the must-see yachts on display, offering insight on everything from history and technical features to performance and projected future maintenance, supporting each client in making the most informed decision.

In addition to advising on specific yachts at the show, Albert underlines the importance of attending this event and other global yacht shows as a new international generation of clients emerges.

It is important for brokers and support teams to be available to clients around the world, both in developing yachting hubs such as Hong Kong – where YPI has recently opened an office – and in established destinations such as Fort Lauderdale.

As FLIBS is the biggest and most established yacht show in the US, those attending are also looking for services beyond yacht sales. Today’s owners expect a full 360-degree approach from their brokerage house, so owners and captains who are at the show to find new management will be able to discuss their needs with the YPI Management team.

Similarly, for those looking to navigate the Caribbean or seeking advice on alternative worldwide destinations, YPI’s renowned charter experts will be on hand to discuss their requirements and suggest potential new charter experiences.
