Palumbo Superyachts has acquired the concession of a 13,049-square-metre waterfront area in Ortona, Italy.
Located at a strategic Adriatic port, the additional space has been designated for shipbuilding activities related to the ISA Yachts, Columbus Yachts, Extra Yachts and Mondomarine brands.
With a current €1 billion order backlog, the move is helping to expand Palumbo's capacity for new build superyachts (between 30 and 100 metres) during a period of significant growth for the shipyard. The site also offers direct access to the sea, complete with its own slipway, for enhanced production and logistical operations.
“Ortona represents a strategic step in Palumbo Superyachts’ growth path,” said Giuseppe Palumbo, director of Palumbo Superyachts. “We have chosen a territory whose DNA is rooted in metal shipbuilding and which possesses highly valuable technical expertise. Our objective is to further strengthen our production capacity by investing in infrastructure, people and innovation.
He continued: "We look to the future with ambition, confident that this new development will significantly contribute to the competitiveness of Italian yachting in global markets.”
According to BOATPro, Palumbo currently has 21 superyacht projects in development, including a custom 100-metre flagship from ISA Yachts, which is scheduled for delivery in 2029.
