Viareggio Superyachts (VSY)

During its short history in one of the world’s yacht-building capitals – Viareggio, Italy – VSY has established itself as one of the country’s premier builders of large luxury superyachts.

History

Founded in 2004, VSY’s mission has been to build innovative, stylish and technologically advanced superyachts that push the boundaries of yacht design. The company forged a collaboration with noted yacht designer Espen Oino for exterior designs. VSY also is dedicated to protecting the environment and has implemented numerous “green” initiatives in both its construction and yacht designs, which have netted the company the RINA Green Plus Yacht certification, among other honours.

Notable Yachts

VSY has completed four luxury superyachts to date, perhaps most notably the 72-metre Stella Maris, which was delivered in 2012. Designed by Oino and Laurent Giles Naval Architects, the yacht has won numerous awards, including two International Superyacht Society Design Awards, which were presented during the 2013 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

Other notable VSY builds include Candyscape II, which has won several awards, including first place in the 60-metre category during the International Yacht Awards held in 2011.

Specialisation

State-of-the-art engineering and technology are at the core of VSY’s business philosophy. The company also is dedicated to building “Total Eco-Yachts” by, among other things, using recyclable materials; water treatment systems that reduce biological impact and odours, recycling systems that use generator exhaust to heat onboard water, and technologies that monitor all appliances and a variety of onboard functions to ensure efficient performance.
