When P3 Marine launched just one year ago, it promised to redefine financial management for the superyacht industry. Launched by superyacht enthusiast and Privat 3 Money founder Reda Bedjaoui and former banker Philippe Werner, the platform was built to address a gap in the market: the fact that traditional financial operations for ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWI) in yachting had not kept pace with technology. A year later, P3 Marine is not only meeting that promise, but it is exceeding expectations, having quickly become a trusted hub for yacht owners, captains, managers, brokers and family offices.
From the outset, P3 Marine was conceived as a purpose-built financial platform, bringing clarity, efficiency and control to superyacht finances. Its integrated multi-currency accounts, embedded Visa debit card management module and real-time reporting tools replaced outdated prepaid card systems and cumbersome manual processes. For yacht owners managing multiple vessels across different currencies, the platform offers a user-friendly, centralised solution. Imagine a captain in the Caribbean approving payments for crew salaries, fuel and provisioning while the family office monitors budgets from London - all on the same platform, in real time.
“We believe the P3 Marine platform will continue to evolve as we strive to maintain a solution that people genuinely enjoy using,” says Bedjaoui and Werner. “This is only possible with the honest support and feedback of our clients. Ultimately, we are proud of what we have built and let the platform speak for itself.”
A year of remarkable growth
The growth of P3 Marine over its first year is a testament to both its design and the agility of its development team. Having in-house developers means the platform can evolve rapidly, responding directly to client feedback. Within 12 months, P3 Marine has rolled out a host of major updates.
Bedjaoui says: “Teamwork has been the driving force behind P3 Marine’s success. The whole company has embraced this new vertical. Without the support and belief of the wider P3 team, we would not have been able to achieve what we have in just one year.”
Becoming a Principal Member of Visa
One of the most significant milestones of the past year was P3 Marine becoming a principal member of Visa, giving it the authority to issue cards directly to clients. This development has brought a new level of control for yacht operations. Department-level spend limits can be assigned to cards issued for crew, chefs or engineers, while batch-issued cards make provisioning or large event planning seamless. For example, a chief stewardess preparing for a charter in St Tropez can now be issued her own card with clear limits, cutting down on paperwork while ensuring transparency.
“We are very proud of achieving Visa Principal Membership - it's a game-changer as none of the incumbents have achieved this yet,” says Werner. "The approval and recognition from Visa have given us confidence and the motivation to keep working hard. We are doing the right thing and moving in the right direction."
Budgeting functionality
Yacht owners and managers often juggle multiple budgets across different vessels. P3 Marine’s new budgeting functionality allows clients to import, create and edit budgets per yacht, while tracking actual versus planned spend. This means an owner’s family office can view charter APA budgets in real time, while a captain oversees day-to-day provisioning costs, ensuring no surprises when reconciling at the end of the charter. The feature brings clarity to one of the most historically opaque aspects of yacht management.
Multiple account batch payments
Running a yacht involves dozens of recurring payments, from crew salaries and marina fees to insurance and maintenance costs. Previously, these had to be initiated separately, which could be a time-consuming and error-prone process. P3 Marine’s multiple account batch payment functionality streamlines this entirely. Now, a yacht management company can, for example, initiate salary, refit, and fuel payments for multiple yachts under management in a single batch upload, while the family office can monitor and approve the payments, saving hours of admin every month.
Flexible authorisation and access levels
Security is critical when managing millions in operating budgets, but rigid systems often slow down workflows. P3 Marine tackled this with updated, flexible authorisation settings. Payments or activity can now go through multiple levels of approval, giving both owners and managers peace of mind. For instance, a large refit payment can require dual approval from both the yacht manager and the owner’s office, ensuring oversight without unnecessary delays.
Strengthened support team
Behind the technology is a strengthened client support team, ensuring timely responses to any queries related to payments, cards or product functionality. Delays can often mean a missed fuel delivery or delayed payroll, but this expansion ensures that clients receive answers quickly, whether they’re docked in Palma or crossing the Atlantic.
P3 Marine’s reach is not just digital. Over the past year, the platform has engaged the yachting community in person, sponsoring exclusive Owners’ Club events like BOAT at the Beach in Sardinia to the St Barths Sunset Cocktail, and attending key shows like the Monaco Yacht Show and the Palm Beach International Boat Show. These interactions have allowed the P3 Marine team to gather firsthand feedback and understand the nuanced needs of superyacht owners and crew.
The platform’s upcoming ambitions reflect the brand’s ambitious vision. Integrating Artificial Intelligence and expanding to new jurisdictions are among the few topics on the roadmap for 2026.
With the launch of P3 Aviation, P3 Marine is clearly expanding its ecosystem into the wider ultra-luxury sector. Many of Privat 3 Money’s clients already use private aviation as part of their lifestyle, making this a natural next step following the success of P3 Marine. While the product and platform closely mirror P3 Marine, they are tailored specifically to meet the unique needs of the private aviation industry.
