The Codecasa Jet 2020 throws out the rule book and twists the boundaries of yacht design as we know it. Taking its cues from the aviation sector, Fulvio Codecasa brings together the best of both worlds – sea and sky – in an ambitious new project set to take the industry by storm.
The 70 metre concept breaks the mould of maritime tradition and stands as a unique example of what creative vision and the courage to go against the grain can achieve. The result? One of the coolest new concepts to take flight; its lines are clean and minimal, and its deck spaces are immense.
When sea meets sky
The Codecasa Jet 2020 features a rounded bow, reminiscent of an aircraft nose cone and cockpit, while its lines and placement of portholes resemble that of a fuselage. In the centre lies a colossal sundeck set-up, offering 200 square metres dedicated entirely to relaxation and enjoyment of the great outdoors, complete with a six-metre recessed swimming pool and a covered gymnasium. Even the double tender garage amidships is said to bear semblance to air inlets on a jet.
A tail-like section, topped with a helipad, houses a skylounge wrapped in glass, as well as a main saloon and dining area with a lift that descends right the way down to a beach club. For accommodation, the main deck bow area is entirely devoted to an owner’s suite, while eight guests have free rein of the lower deck with four sumptuous cabins in which to unwind.
This industry gamechanger is guaranteed to be kitted out with the latest technical equipment available on the market too, starting with as radar antennas encased in carbon fibre domes.
Despite its unconventional design, Codecasa’s Jet 2020 will be held to the same quality of build and uncompromising standards that underpin the Codecasa brand. The concept will also be certified by international classification societies and flag authorities, such as Lloyd’s Register and the MCA, to allow its owners to embark on global adventures with peace of mind.
