Alex Clarke at Denison Yacht Sales updates me on the work in progress on the 34m motor yacht Amada which he has listed for sale.
Built in 1988 by Denison, Amada is now close to finishing her 2012 refit including a complete rebuild of her MTU engines and KaMeWa jet drives. Her transom was reconfigured to feature a larger swim platform and she's had a complete exterior paint job of the hull, superstructure and bottom. There's also an entirely new electronics package on the lower and upper helms and the mast is in the process of being reconfigured.
The interior needs a complete overhaul and refit but has been left 'as is' for a new owner to install new decor specific to his requirements. Estimated costs start at $350,000. Amada will be able to reach speeds in excess of 40 knots, which is rare for a yacht of this size.
Alex is coy about the asking price for Amada but says that a very good deal can be had for the right buyer who wants a project.
