The longest-running superyacht event in Asia, the Asia Superyacht Rendezvous for power and sail vessels, kicks off this weekend offering three days of on- and off-water activities in Phuket, ‘the Mediterranean of the East’. The emphasis is on a fun gathering, with some vessels departing afterwards to explore the Andaman Sea during the holiday season.

Based at the Royal Phuket Yacht Club, the Asia Superyacht Rendezvous includes sailing from Nai Harn Bay to Surin Bay, with courses set out by long-serving Race Officer Andy Dowden. Following the first race, guests gather for the popular ‘Challenge’ team boat-building and racing contest.

Among the participants this year will be three Feadship yachts, M/Y Callisto, M/Y Samax and M/Y Helix. The Rendezvous is also pleased to welcome first time attendee Royal Huisman’s elegant 57m S/Y Twizzle, as well as S/Y Silolona, S/Y Yanneke Too, M/Y Maverick and S/Y Shamoun.

Social events range from cocktail parties to barbecues and the Boat International Gala Dinner.
