Italian yard AB Yachts, a brand of Next Yacht Group, has announced another addition to its portfolio known as the AB 110S.
The 33.7-metre model is a sportier riff on the AB 110 and marks the first collaboration with automotive specialists EXE Design. As such, she carries several design cues from that industry, including a raked-back windshield and a narrow, lightweight profile.
"We also boast over 20 years of experience in naval architecture. [And] this cross-sector approach is the real added value of our work," added Stefano Bedoni of EXE Design. "It’s from this dual competency that a harmonious yacht emerges."
The new model is packed with design details that lend it a "strong personality" and greater onboard liveability, including several pieces of retractable technology. The first is the cockpit cover system, which consists of sliding slats that retract to expand the shaded area; the second, a retractable sunroof between the helm station and saloon, with a transparent companionway that invites in natural light.
Finally, there is the retractable hardtop, considered the "true signature element" of the sporty model and able to cover either the helm station or the sunpad.
The main deck also has a strong, welcoming personality with its cockpit sunbathing area and bar unit – the latter serves both the interior and exterior for "visual and functional flow". Also worthy of note is the bow, where the "flying couch" takes centre stage; a raised, wrap-around sofa offering panoramic sea views.
In keeping with previous models, the AB 110S can reach an eye-watering speed of 48 knots (thanks to three MAN V12X-2200 engines). Total engine room soundproofing will result in "no vibrations" and low noise emissions.
According to BOATPro, AB Yachts has nine yacht projects on order or under construction, two of which belong to the waterjet-powered AB 130 series. The first in the series, Effe, was delivered this May.
