The morning sun glints off the calm Mediterranean waters as you step barefoot onto the teak decking of the flybridge. Below, your guests are still asleep in their en-suite cabins. The galley island is prepped for breakfast, the hydraulic swim platform is lowered for an early swim and the solar panels are already quietly topping up the batteries. This is what life looks like on the Heysea SV60, an 18.3-metre luxury sailing catamaran that punches well above its weight.
Designed by the renowned Dixon Yacht Design with an 8.8-metre beam, the SV60 delivers the inherent volume advantages of a catamaran hull. "Working closely with Heysea, we identified a clear demand for a high-volume cruising catamaran," explains Bill Dixon, managing director of Dixon Yacht Design. "Our primary focus was on creating generous interior living spaces - particularly the saloon - while also providing a variety of well-protected and open-air outdoor areas, including a spacious flybridge."
The result is a yacht where owners can genuinely live, entertain and explore in total comfort.
One of the most compelling aspects of the Heysea SV60 is the sheer level of customisation available to buyers. This isn't a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, Heysea and Dixon Yacht Design have created a platform that adapts to the owner's lifestyle, whether that's private family cruising or a charter operation.
"Over the past two decades, we have developed a deep understanding of how to build highly personalised yachts for owners with different lifestyles and expectations," says Allen Leng, CEO of Heysea Yachts. "For example, we have delivered nearly 20 yachts around 108 feet in length and no two of their interiors are the same. We have also delivered approximately 30 yachts around 82 feet, and again, every interior design was unique."
That philosophy extends to the SV60. Buyers can choose between five or six cabin layouts, select interior styling with Dixon's team and configure the galley, dining and storage spaces to suit their needs.
"[We] focused on the yacht's interior space planning and the primary structural elements associated with the layout," Dixon explains. "Within those parameters, owners have considerable flexibility to personalise materials, finishes and other interior details to suit their individual preferences."
Walk through the main deck saloon of the SV60, and you’ll notice high-quality materials - marble countertops, teak decking, premium fabrics - are used throughout. The open-plan saloon features a galley with an island unit on the port side, perfect for preparing meals while staying part of the conversation. Opposite, a dining space can be configured to suit the owner's preferences.
The indoor-outdoor living experience continues seamlessly as you step through the double doors into the cockpit. Here, an al fresco dining area invites long lunches under the sun, while steps lead down to a hydraulic swim platform - ideal for launching a tender, diving into the water or simply lounging at sea level with a drink in hand.
For sun worshippers, the foredeck offers generous sunpads, lounge seating and an optional pool.
Accommodation-wise, Heysea and Dixon developed two distinct configurations: an owner's version and a charter version. The five-cabin configuration is designed for owners who want a touch of exclusivity. The master cabin is a true retreat, featuring a walk-around double bed, en-suite bathroom with marble finishes, a dedicated desk area and lounge space. For buyers eyeing the charter market, the six-cabin layout features five double cabins and a twin for larger groups. There are separate crew quarters in the bow of each hull.
"For a 60-foot catamaran, the level of comfort and luxury is exceptionally high, with every cabin featuring a walk-around double bed and private en-suite facilities,” says Dixon. “The six-cabin charter layout is particularly impressive, offering charter operators an outstanding balance of guest accommodation without compromising the spacious feel of the saloon or outdoor living areas."
Ascend the stairs to the flybridge, and you'll find one of the SV60's most inviting spaces. Sheltered beneath a T-top, this deck offers panoramic views and multiple zones for relaxation and entertaining. An L-shaped seating area and dining table create the perfect spot for al fresco meals with a view, while aft, a sunpad, lounge seating, bar and barbecue turn the flybridge into an outdoor living room.
While the SV60 is designed as a luxury cruising catamaran rather than a high-performance racing yacht, Dixon and his team worked closely with Heysea to optimise the composite construction using advanced technical fabrics, achieving an excellent balance of strength, durability and weight.
"Quality is always one of the most important concerns for international yacht owners, and Heysea takes this responsibility very seriously," adds Leng. "For all of the yachts and catamarans we build, the major equipment systems are from leading European and international brands. The same applies to our hull materials."
The SV60 is powered by twin Yanmar 4JH110 engines, offering a cruising speed of around eight to 10 knots under sail or engine. With a 1.6-metre draught, the yacht can access shallow anchorages and explore coastlines that deeper-keeled yachts can't reach.
For environmentally conscious owners, the SV60 offers an optional solar panel package, reducing reliance on generators and allowing for quieter cruising.
Whether you're imagining lazy days at anchor in the Greek islands, exploring the Caribbean with family, or building a charter business in the Mediterranean, the SV60 offers the space, flexibility and quality to make it happen.
The SV60 will be on display at the upcoming Cannes Yachting Festival, Genoa International Boat Show and the CROYA Charter Show. To book a viewing or to find out more information, contact the team at Heysea Europe.
