Marco Plicchi named chief operating officer at Sialia Yachts

Sialia Yachts, a Polish builder specialising in electric yachts between 13 and 30 metres, has announced the appointment of Marco Plicchi as its new chief operating officer as the company looks to accelerate its global growth and innovation strategy in the electric yacht sector.

With over 25 years of leadership experience in the yacht industry, Plicchi will oversee Sialia’s production processes and spearhead the development of new product lines, including the brand’s latest launch, the fully electric Sialia 45. His remit will include enhancing operational efficiency, expanding the model range and upholding the highest standards of product quality as the company continues its push towards eco-conscious yachting.

A naval architect and marine engineer by training, Plicchi has held senior roles at several leading superyacht builders, with expertise spanning engineering, new product development, ERP implementation, sea trials and after-sales service. He will join the executive leadership team at both Sialia Yachts and its parent company Silent Straits Group.

The announcement comes as Sialia prepares to unveil the new Sialia 45 in June 2025, ahead of its world debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September. The new model is expected to reach a top speed of 43 knots and boasts the largest range in its class.

Founded in 2017, Sialia Yachts specialises in fully electric boats ranging from 13 to 30 metres. With headquarters in Warsaw and Cyprus – and team members based in the Netherlands, Germany, Italy and the US – the company is known for integrating advanced electric propulsion technology from AMPROS into its growing fleet, which currently includes the Sialia 45, 57, 59 and 80 Explorer models.

The appointment of Plicchi reflects the brand’s continued commitment to pushing boundaries in the zero-emission yachting space. In November 2024, Milvio Ricci joined Sialia Yachts as chief commercial officer.
