Tankoa Yachts acquires Otam Yachts

Italian yard Tankoa Yachts has confirmed the acquisition of Otam Yachts' business division, including the historic Genoa shipyard and the Otam brand.

The agreement, completed in partnership with the two founding families, does not affect Otam's dockyard activities in Genoa, which remain under their current management. The move is part of Tankoa’s expansion strategy announced earlier this year, following the sale of three superyachts which has meant that the yard will be operating at full capacity until at least 2026.

The Otam facility in Genoa's Santa Margherita Ligure spans 4,800 square metres of covered space, 3,300 square metres of open-air areas, and a 10,000-square-metre water basin, all equipped with infrastructure and operational workshops.

Tankoa plans to implement a programme of restructuring and upgrades to the site, which includes extending and reorganising concessions as well as building new production sheds. Alongside this, the Otam workforce will be transferred to Tankoa, ensuring job continuity and adding technical expertise to the yard’s operations.

Otam Yachts  has  been producing high-quality yachts since 1954, specialising in building highly efficient fast boats which can be used as both primary vessels or chase boats. The Otam brand will join Tankoa’s portfolio, with Tankoa pledging to respect Otam's heritage while shaping a long-term strategy for its future.

According to BOATPro, Tankoa now has a total of eight projects in development, with its most recent delivery, Grey, set to debut at this year's Monaco Yacht Show.
