Ocean Talks 2020 Cancelled

27 March 2020

Due to ongoing uncertainty surrounding coronavirus, our Ocean Talks event, scheduled to take place on June 10 2020, has been cancelled.

The next Ocean Talks event, held in collaboration with Ocean Family Foundation, will take place on June 9, 2021 at the Royal Geographical Society in London. All approved applications for the June 2020 event will be moved forward to the rescheduled event in 2021.

"BOAT International and Ocean Family Foundation have taken the sad but necessary decision to cancel Ocean Talks for 2020. We were so excited about our fantastic speakers and exhibitors this year, and we do not do this lightly, but we think that with all the chaos and uncertainty surrounding travel and gatherings for the foreseeable future, this is the correct thing to do,” said Sacha Bonsor, Editorial Director of BOAT International.

"We remain committed to continue building the bridge between the yachting industry and the marine conservation community, however, and hope that you will join us in force in 2021 to make up for this year’s omission.”

Ocean Talks started in 2018 with the aim of encouraging the yachting community to engage more meaningfully with specialists working in marine conservation.

In the meantime, this year's Ocean Awards finalists have been selected and the winners will be announced in the June issue of BOAT International.
