The 35.5-metre Southern Wind sailing yacht Kiboko 4 has been crowned Sailing Yacht of the Year at the 2025 edition of the World Superyacht Awards.

Like all the winners at the World Superyacht Awards, the prestigious title was chosen by an independent panel of judges and announced at the end of the awards ceremony, along with the Motor Yacht of the Year winner, 122-metre Kismet.

Kiboko 4 represents the next leap in high-performance sailing. As the second launch in the shipyard's SW108 series, she features cutting-edge naval architecture with refined design to deliver an all-round sailing experience.

Equipped with a lifting keel and a powerful sail configuration, Kiboko 4 is engineered to excel whether crossing oceans or battling it out on the regatta circuit. Built for a seasoned Southern Wind client - now on their fourth yacht from the shipyard - the sloop balances the thrill of competition with the pleasures of comfortable, long-range cruising. The owner has ambitious plans, including transatlantic passages and entry into elite racing events, proving the yacht's adaptability across multiple sailing disciplines.

Inspired by the successful debut of 35.5-metre Gelliceaux, the first in the series and a winner at the St Barths Bucket, Kiboko 4 carries forward a legacy of performance excellence.

Aesthetically, Kiboko 4 is a head-turner. Designed inside and out by Nauta Design, her silhouette is dynamic and powerful, accentuated by a dark hull and matching mast. The deck is streamlined and functional, with an opening transom that doubles as a beach club and reveals a garage for a five-metre tender.

Below deck, the atmosphere is fresh and sophisticated. Light oak cabinetry is complemented by walnut accents, and the interiors are finished with artisanal fabrics sourced from Mallorca.

Kiboko 4 marks a bold progression in Southern Wind’s fleet, offering discerning sailors a yacht that doesn’t compromise - whether chasing the breeze in a regatta or cruising the world's oceans in comfort - and all of this made her a worthy winner of this year's Sailing Yacht of the Year.
