Bringing one of its most iconic watch designs up to date with changing styles and tastes, Italian watchmaker Panerai has released an updated version of the classic Luminor Marina timepiece.

The Luminor Marina Quaranta is designed with the familiar features of the original model in a smaller and refined form. The cushion-shaped case with a brushed finish, solid lugs and a polished bezel are presented for the first time in a 40mm model, bringing the size down from 42mm into a more delicate and elegant style. The Luminor Marina Quaranta will therefore become the smallest Luminor Marina in production.

Enclosed in a case of stainless steel, the Luminor Marina Quaranta is designed with an automatic winding, P.900 caliber and three day power reserve concealed within the caseback. The timeless model displays a seconds sub-dial at 9 o’clock and the date at 3 o’clock across all watchfaces in the line, but offers three different sun-brushed dial aesthetics for buyers to choose from. Suitable for superyacht owners and charterers spending time on the water, the Luminor Marina Quaranta is also water-resistant to 10 bar or 100 metres deep.

The marine theme is best exemplified in the blue colour scheme, but wearers can also opt for a sleek option in black or a more casual and classic option in white. Depending on the palette, each watch is accompanied by an alligator leather strap and a calf leather strap chosen to coordinate with their dial. Whichever model is worn, each incorporates the Quick Release System feature that allows straps to be interchanged easily without the use of tools. This means that the watch can be transformed in a matter of minutes, allowing the wearer to switch up their style with ease by choosing from a curated collection of straps.

The three varieties of the new Panerai Luminor Marina Quaranta are available to purchase immediately, with the option of a flexible and durable lightweight rubber bracelet in a full spectrum of colours set to appear in the coming months. Panerai.com
