Knight & Carver

After four decades as a luxury yacht builder and boat yard in National City, California, Knight & Carver now offers superyacht service and refit work as Marine Group Boat Works National City.

History

Knight & Carver was founded in 1971 on San Diego Bay. Originally a dockside repair shop, Knight & Carver’s reputation soon grew beyond repair and refit. The shipyard built more than 100 luxury yachts.

Knight & Carver filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in March 2012. Marine Group Boat Works successfully won the bid to take over the company in 2013. Knight & Carver built out of a shipyard owned by the Port of San Diego. The company has been since rebranded Marine Group Boat Works National City.
