Hot news as Jan-Jaap Minnema at Fraser Yachts tells me he's closed on his listing for sale, the mighty 88.8 metre in-build Chinese motor yacht Illusion with bluewater in Antibes representing the buyer.

Illusion is currently under construction at the Pride shipyard in Shandong province and is by far the largest yacht ever to be built in China, with six decks carrying 3,500GRT. Exterior design is by Rainsford Mann and the naval architecture was drawn up by Azure Naval Architects, responsible for the naval architecture of some of the largest yachts in the world.

The modern, elegant and Asian-inspired interior has been conceived by the renowned Sander Sinot team, accommodating 14 guests in seven large staterooms including a master suite and six doubles, all with full en suite facilities.

Based on the styling of Britain’s Rolls-Royce motor cars, llusion will be propelled by two 3,000hp Rolls Royce diesel-electric engines with a predicted top speed of 14 to 17 knots.

Jan-Jaap Minnema says, 'It was excellent work by bluewater and I truly think this deal is absolutely a game changer for the industry.'

Illusion is due for delivery in October 2015.
