The 42.1 metre motor yacht Istros, listed for sale by Yachtzoo, has been sold in an in-house deal.
Delivered in 1954 by Dutch shipyard De Vries Lentsch, Istros is a beautiful classic yacht and was in need of a passionate owner looking for a rewarding yacht restoration project. Having been completely dismantled, a restoration project was begun by H2 Yacht Design and Laurent Giles Naval Architects in 2013 which saw all the interiors, wiring and plumbing removed, but the project was paused before completion.
Built to an in-house design, she has a steel hull and teak deck. Once restored, Istros will be capable of sleeping up to nine guests in her five cabins, with crew quarters for a staff of up to ten people. Her cabins currently consist of one master with en-suite, three twin rooms and one single room. The former interior of the saloon featured a sofa, two lounge areas with coffee tables and a round dining table, while numerous windows provide plenty of light in the living and dining areas.
On deck, there is space for a large sofa and four deck chairs, while a second, larger dining table could be installed for alfresco entertaining.
She was previously powered by a pair of diesel engines which offered a cruising speed of 13 knots and a top speed of 15 knots although it is expected the new owner may wish to install new machinery.
Istros was asking €1,250,000.
