by Malcolm Maclean
The 29.8 metre motor yacht My Destiny, listed for sale by Jim McConville at Allied Marine, has been sold in an in-house deal with the buyer introduced by Jim Hill.
Built in GRP to ABS class by US yard Destiny and launched in 2001, she has been constantly and carefully maintained ever since. Styled inside and out by Evan K Marshall, she sleeps eight guests in a full beam master suite, VIP suite, double and a twin cabin. All guest cabins come with entertainment centres, television screen and en-suite bathroom facilities.
The main deck saloon is entered through two electric sliding doors from the aft deck. It features high gloss woods and silk fabrics, an overstuffed freestanding L-shaped sofa which seats six people, two armchairs and a fully equipped bar with four highback chairs. The bar countertop is granite and includes an ice maker, refrigerator, glass storage and an area for liquor storage. Forward to port is the dining area which has a circular dining table with eight freestanding chairs, marble flooring and a built-in storage area for china and cutlery.
The flybridge has a helm station to starboard with two bench seats that will accommodate three people comfortably. Aft of the bench seats is a wet bar, a stainless-steel barbecue grill, dining area and Jacuzzi spa tub. Aft of the Jacuzzi is a storage area for the tender and wave runner. Power comes from twin 2,986hp MTU 12V4000 M90 engines that give My Destiny a cruising speed of 21 knots, topping out at 26 knots.
My Destiny was asking $1,395,000.
