First two hulls of Mengi-Yay Virtus yacht series sold

16 February 2021 • Written by Malcolm MacLean

The first two hulls of the 47 metre Mengi-Yay Virtus series have been sold by David Legrand at Fraser.

Currently being built in steel and aluminium by Turkish yard Mengi-Yay, the yachts feature exterior design by VYD Studio. Both yachts are expected to be delivered in 2022 and feature accommodation for up to ten guests split between a master suite and four further cabins. Meanwhile, the crew quarters allow for a staff of up to eight people.  The interior of hull NB101 was designed by Leonardo Santi.

They boast plentiful deck spaces, including a foredeck seating and sunbathing area. The superyacht sundeck is split between a spa pool and an area for sun loungers back aft, while the sheltered cockpit includes an aft-facing wrap of seating for great views out to sea.

Power will come from a pair of 1,450hp Caterpillar C32 diesel engines for a top speed of 14.5 knots. When trimmed back to a cruising speed of 12 knots, they boast an impressive range thanks to a total fuel capacity of 51,000 litres.

The asking prices for Hull No 1 and Hull No 2 have been withheld.
