Giancarlo Galeone elected new CEO of the Ferretti Group

Following last week’s news of the sudden death of Ferretti’s CEO, Salvatore Basile, the company’s board has announced that his place will now be taken by Giancarlo Galeone.

Giancarlo Galeone has a long association with the Ferretti Group, having directed  it as CEO from 1995 to 2006. His appointment should guarantee company continuity as, from July 2009, Mr Galeone worked in close cooperation with Mr Basile on the Board of Directors in defining the group’s reorganisation and relaunch plan, sharing the same vision and strategies.

Norberto Ferretti, the company’s founder and chairman says, “Giancarlo Galeone’s in-depth experience of the nautical sector, the fact that he totally embraces the strategic lines of the relaunch and development plan we have been implementing over the past few years, and his comprehensive knowledge of the Ferretti Group will assure a decisive contribution to the development of our projects over the next few years”.

Born in Stockholm in 1961, Mr Galeone graduated from Bologna University in 1987 and joined Ferretti in 1991, becoming a member of the board in 1999.
