Johnson motor yacht Illusion sold

22 January 2021 • Written by Malcolm MacLean

The 26.52 metre Johnson motor yacht Illusion, listed for sale by Russ Schafer at Denison Yachting, has been sold with the buyer introduced by Scott Roberton of MarineMax.

Built in GRP by Taiwanese yard Johnson Yachts to a design by Bill Dixon, she was delivered in 2004 as a Johnson 87 model and accommodates eight guests in four cabins consisting of a master suite, VIP suite, a double and a twin, all with full en suite bathroom facilities. All cabins also have individual climate control, satellite television, DVD and CD players.

Illusion was asking $1,874,000

Outside deck areas include a very pleasant flying bridge, semi-shaded by a hard top, that offers plenty of comfortable seating, a full wet bar, a Jacuzzi and a music system. The yacht's interior is accessed via the raised pilot house or through wide doors from the aft deck. High gloss cherry wood adorns the large saloon, which is partially separated from the formal dining area that offers seating for eight.

While under her original ownership, Illusion has been all over the world. She travelled extensively throughout the Mediterranean, transited the Panama Canal and went back and forth to Alaska on her own bottom. She is a luxurious and impeccable Johnson yacht, with a total refit of the exterior and interior in 2019 including a full hull repaint. Twin MTU diesel engines give her a cruising speed of 12 knots and a maximum speed of 17 knots while, for added comfort, she is fitted with ABT zero speed stabilisers.

Illusion was asking $1,874,000.
