Superyacht Dione Star sold by OCI and Yacht Connections

21 July 2011 • Written by Malcolm MacLean

Hearing that the 38.5m sailing yacht Dione Star has now been sold, I call Toby Macluarin at Ocean Independence where Peter Hurzeler had the central listing, to be told that Yacht Connections in the UK found the buyer.

A motorsailor, she was built by the Friesland yard in 1991 to a design by Diana Yacht Design. Lloyds classed and MCA compliant, she has been refitted several times, most recently in 2008, and her Donald Starkey interior accommodates 12 guests in a master suite, VIP stateroom and four twin cabins.?? A single 550hp Baudouin engine gives Dione Star a range of 3,000 nautical miles at her cruising speed of 10 knots and she was asking €3.7 million.
