FLYING DUTCHMAN is a 124’ (37.8m) tri-deck motor yacht built by Lloyds Ships in 1984 and comprehensively refit in 2014, with continual upgrades through 2024. Constructed with an aluminum hull and superstructure, she combines robust engineering with proven oceangoing capability and a 3,300-nautical-mile range.
Powered by twin Caterpillar 3412E engines, installed in 2003 and fully overhauled in 2023, she cruises at 12.5 knots and reaches 15.9 knots at maximum speed. Technical systems have been thoroughly modernized, including generator overhauls (2024), new CAT diagnostic computers, upgraded navigation electronics, Starlink connectivity, and a new Siren monitoring and alarm system. Stabilizers, thrusters, electrical transformers, and through-hull valves have all been recently serviced or replaced, ensuring reliability and safety.
Guest spaces flow across three decks. The main salon is accessed aft through sliding glass doors and arranged with opposing settees and coffee tables beneath large windows. Forward to port is a dining table for eight while the starboard side leads to a day head and foyer. Above, the skylounge provides a second lounge area with panoramic views, furnished with matching settees, a 46-inch television, and a full-service wet bar with new refrigeration and icemaking equipment. Just forward, the wheelhouse is designed for navigation efficiency with a Stidd helm chair, a guest settee beneath the expansive bridge windows, and direct access to the captain’s en-suite cabin.
Accommodations for 12 are arranged in five staterooms. The full-beam master is positioned on the main deck amidships and fitted with a king berth, oversized windows, vanity, extensive wardrobe space, and a spacious en-suite bath with double basins and a walk-in shower. Aft of this cabin on the port side is a study featuring a large window, a working desk, and shelves for books. It’s the perfect place for reading or to be used as a small child’s cabin who needs to sleep close to the master.
Two VIP suites are located on the lower deck and both rival a typical master in volume. The aft VIP has a king berth, ample drawer and closet storage, and a large en-suite with double basins and a walk-in shower, while the forward VIP includes a king berth, a writing desk, and an en-suite bath with Jacuzzi tub. Two twin cabins forward complete the layout, each with three berths in over/under configuration and ensuite showers, providing versatile accommodations for families or additional guests.
The main aft deck provides dining and lounge seating with all-weather enclosures. The bridge deck aft includes an alfresco dining area and six sun loungers. The sundeck is finished in teak and fitted with additional lounges and a Jacuzzi. The foredeck and Portuguese bridge offer further seating and unobstructed views. A large swim platform, fitted with new teak, custom tender moorings, and a rebuilt crane and davit system, supports her complement of tenders and toys, including a refurbished 22-foot Novurania RIB, a 17-foot Walker Bay, four Jet Skis, and a variety of inflatables.
Recent refit work includes new furniture, soft goods, carpeting, and paint, as well as system upgrades across HVAC, AV/entertainment, and safety equipment. With her ongoing maintenance schedule, FLYING DUTCHMAN presents as a mechanically sound, well-equipped tri-deck motor yacht with proven long-range capability and updated guest amenities.
