NEXT is the second hull in Columbus Yachts’ 40M Sport Hybrid series, designed in collaboration with Hydro Tec and Hot Lab—an award-winning duo behind some of the industry’s most acclaimed yachts. With a sporty exterior and a bright, contemporary interior, NEXT added another trophy to their cabinet, earning the World Superyacht Award for Best Semi-Displacement Yacht.
Delivered in 2015 and refitted in 2025, she balances performance and efficiency with a proven charter record. Extensive upgrades since her launch has ensured she remains fully equipped for both private cruising and commercial operation.
NEXT has a sporty profile with a vertical bow and a full aluminium semi-displacement hull. On the main deck aft, a built-in sofa lines the stern and the space can be arranged for dining or lounging. The upper deck aft is a fully flexible space, currently outfitted with a large dining table, full bar, and sun loungers, all shaded by overlapping awnings.
Hot Lab’s interiors prioritise natural light and comfort with light woods, exquisite marbles, polished stainless steel, and plush carpets over wooden floors. The main salon features both lounge and dining areas, with a sliding marble bulkhead that conceals a television. Sliding doors open to the side decks, where drop-down balconies on either side enhance the connection to the sea. Above, the upper salon offers a more intimate lounge space, designed to maximise the open-air area aft.
NEXT accommodates up to 11 guests in five cabins, including a full-beam master suite on the main deck with a private office, dressing room, and an en suite featuring a double shower, bathtub, and his-and-hers marble sinks. On the lower deck are two double cabins and two twin cabins, one of which has a Pullman berth.
The two aft cabins can convert into a full-beam VIP suite by sliding away the dividing wall, folding one bed into the wall, and adding a sofa and coffee table, creating a space with dual en suites. Crew quarters sleep seven in four cabins.
Powered by twin MTU 12V 2000 M94 diesel engines, NEXT features an aluminium semi-displacement hull that delivers exceptional hydrodynamic efficiency. With a refit and 10-year RINA class survey completed in 2025, NEXT remains in immaculate condition.
