The 14th World Superyacht Awards, in association with Oyster Yachts, were held in London from May 16-18th and celebrated the finest yachts delivered in 2018.
The weekend began with a bumper social programme on Thursday May 16 with an Elite Golf Day at St George’s Hill Golf Club.
Guests enjoyed a competitive round of golf and driving practice and concluded with Moritz Schmidinger, Neil Hallam Jones, Max Orrin and Helga Piaget taking the prize for best team.
Meanwhile, over on the West Wycombe Estate, guests had the opportunity to practice their shooting at A Day in the Country. Guests shot flurries across a variety of locations around the estate, travelling between shooting stands by 4X4.
Richard Hadida, chief executive and owner of Oyster Yachts, took the prize for the best male shot, while Richard Matthews, Ben Cussons, Tony Castro and Peter Bessey triumphed as the winning team.
The social programme continued on Friday with guests invited for a day on board the iconic Belmond British Pullman train. Guests toured the iconic Kentish countryside as they enjoyed a decadent five-course meal.
The celebrations kicked off in earnest on Friday evening with The Welcome Party, which was held on the banks of the River Thames and hosted by Stefano Ricci.
On Saturday, May 18, it was time for the main event. The glitzy awards ceremony for the 2019 World Superyacht Awards got underway at Old Billingsgate on the banks of the River Thames.
Owners, designers, builders and members of the yachting industry flocked to the red-carpet event to celebrate the achievements of the industry. A total of 17 coveted Neptune Awards were handed out during the ceremony, which was compered by television personality Natasha Kaplinsky. To read the full list of winners, click here.
Finally, on Sunday May 19, guests were invited to take part in the World Superyacht Awards’ Cultural Programme, which celebrated the heritage and history of London.
Guests enjoyed behind the scenes tours of Fortnum & Mason, royal jeweller House of Garrad, contemporary gallery Unit London, famous Savile Row house Henry Poole & Co and fine wine and spirits boutique Hedonism Wines.
