Oyster Yachts
Headquartered in the British sailing hub of Southampton, U.K., luxury yacht builder Oyster Yachts manufactures racing and cruising sailing yachts and superyachts from 14.81 to 37.45 metres in length.
History of Oyster Yachts
Luxury yacht builder Oyster Yachts was founded in 1973 to manufacture performance racing/cruising sailing yachts. Over the years, the shipyard has collaborated with internationally recognised yacht designers to create its production and custom sailing yacht models. These include yacht design firm Holman & Pye, which created the Oyster UFO racing yacht series; Humphreys Yacht Design, creator of the Oyster 475 to 885 luxury sailing yacht range, and Dubois Naval Architects, designers of the Oyster 100 and 125 sailing superyachts.
In 2013-2014, luxury yacht builder Oyster Yachts demonstrated the oceangoing capabilities of its bluewater sailing yacht range by holding the inaugural Oyster World Rally. This signature event sent 26 Oyster luxury yachts on a 30,000-mile voyage around the globe. The next Oyster World Rally is planned for 2017-2019.
