Italian yard Baglietto has unveiled a new flagship addition to its successful DOM superyacht line: the DOM155. The first 46.4-metre unit will be available in early 2029.
The new model comes as an evolution of the popular 40.9-metre DOM133 line, which has 12 units sold, and the 34.5-metre DOM115 line, which has four new build orders to date. Characterised by a sub-500GT volume, the new displacement motor yacht follows the previous models' Roman domus concept of "warm, welcoming and refined", now expanded with larger volumes and "enhanced liveability".
Italian designer and long-time Baglietto collaborator Stefano Vafiadis has returned for the design of the DOM155. Vafiadis describes the design as “clean and sculptural," while “never excessive, yet balanced and aggressive at the same time, featuring longitudinal cuts and taut volumes inspired by automotive design.”
Taking inspiration from the DOM133, the DOM155 features generous volumes, floor-to-ceiling glazing and a "seamless dialogue" between interior and exterior spaces.
The main focus of the model is found in the stern. Dedicated to relaxation and well-being, the space features a central panoramic infinity pool with steps on either side leading to the aft cockpit. This space can be configured with a spa and gym overlooking the sea, thanks to a fold-down port-side shell door, or as an additional tender garage if desired.
Inside, living areas comprise a main deck saloon with a dining table for ten guests aft, and an upper deck saloon which opens on three sides for panoramic views. Also on the main deck is the owner's suite, which spans the yacht's full beam and is fitted with a walk-in closet, a master bedroom with a California king-size bed and a spacious his-and-hers en suite with a "walk-through" shower.
Four en suite guest cabins are located on the lower deck, forward of which is accommodation for a crew of eight in addition to a crew mess and laundry area. An additional guest cabin can also be incorporated on the upper deck if desired.
Other lounge spaces on board can be found forward of the wheelhouse (near a technical area housing a tender and jet ski) and a 130-square-metre sundeck fitted with sunbathing areas, a "conversation lounge" and an infinity pool with an integrated bar.
In keeping with the DOM133, aluminium has been chosen as the construction material for the DOM155, allowing for greater customisation alongside improved performance and a shallow draught. As such, the project is particularly appealing to the American market, of which the La Spezia–based shipyard notes as one of its most important markets.
“The DOM155 is the result of listening carefully to our clients and, more broadly, to the market, which has enthusiastically welcomed both the 35- and 41-metre models but has repeatedly expressed interest in larger dimensions,” explained Baglietto’s chief commercial officer, Fabio Ermetto.
He continued: “This project, developed together with architect Stefano Vafiadis, brings together many of the improvement suggestions and experiences shared by our owners over the years, resulting in a yacht with high levels of customisation, comfort, and liveability that we are confident will fit perfectly into the sub-500 GT yacht segment.”
The DOM155 will be powered by twin CAT C32 engines, capable of reaching a 16-knot maximum speed.
According to BOATPro, Baglietto currently has 18 yachts on order or under construction, including three 60-metre T60 yacht models.
