First look inside Horizon Yachts' newest FD80 hull set to debut at Cannes and Monaco shows

Taiwanese shipyard Horizon Yachts has offered a first look inside the latest model in its FD80 series. The 24.6-metre yacht is the first FD80 to enter the European market, with the yard confirming it is set to premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival and Monaco Yacht Show in September this year.

The 15th unit in Horizon’s Fast Displacement (FD) 80-foot series has been tailored for an international owner with specific requirements for European cruising. The yacht is distinguished by a high-volume interior designed in collaboration with Dutch designer Cor D. Rover, known for his work across Horizon’s FD range.

The design centres on an open-plan layout with floor-to-ceiling windows and a neutral, minimalist palette. Materials include bleached teak and brushed gunmetal, used throughout the cabinetry and trim. Horizon has also included several custom touches for the European client, including a 65-inch The Frame TV in the main saloon and another in the master suite.

Accommodation is for eight across four en suite staterooms, including a full-beam master on the main deck. The lower deck houses two VIP cabins and a forward stateroom that can convert between a V-berth and a double. Crew quarters for four are positioned aft of the engine room and have direct access to the beach club.

In terms of exterior deck spaces, the FD80 offers several social areas, including a Jacuzzi on the bridge deck, adjacent to an L-shaped teppanyaki bar and arc-shaped seating. Aft, the space is arranged flexibly to accommodate either a lounge area or tender storage. Additional amenities include a hydraulic passerelle, custom refrigeration and wine storage, as well as a foredeck dining area with sunpads.

Power comes from twin MTU 1,600hp engines. The yacht is also equipped with a fully enclosed wheelhouse and Horizon’s Skyline configuration, which maximises indoor volume while maintaining open-air deck spaces.

The arrival of the FD80 in Europe marks a strategic expansion for Horizon, whose FD Series has proven popular in the US and Asia-Pacific markets.
