Nobiskrug secures 120m superyacht refit contract

13 October 2021 • Written by Miranda Blazeby

German shipyard Nobiskrug has confirmed it has signed a major refit contract for a 120 metre superyacht.

The project, which is described as “one of the largest and most beautiful yachts in the world”, was secured just eight weeks after new owner Lars Windhorst took over the shipyard.

The project will include “comprehensive refit” and “demanding repair works” drawing on both the engineering and construction capabilities of the yard. Expected to take place over several months, the work will be carried out in a temperature-controlled dry dock.

Speaking about the contract, Nobiskrug chief executive Philipp Maracke said: “Following trustful and productive negotiations, we have managed to successfully re-position Nobiskrug on the market in a very short period of time.

“We will continue to work reliably and professionally on all the shipbuilding projects handed over to us in the future.”
