A year after announcing the Giorgio Cassetta-designed 85-metre Project Oro, Benetti used the Monaco Yacht Show to share the yacht's interior concept.
The yacht's full-custom interiors have been headed up by Valentina Zannier, formerly of Nuvolari Lenard, marking a first-time collaboration between the Italian shipyard and the designer. Zannier has a varied fleet of yachts in her portfolio, among the most famous being the detail-rich Lady Jorgia (formerly Ahpo).
Project Oro has been conceived to target a number of the design requests that clients frequently desire when buying a yacht in this size bracket. The exterior is characterised by a plumb bow, "stately proportions" and arching lines that taper into curved aft decks.
Playing with the interaction between contemporary and classic, Project Oro incorporates "pure, ancestral shapes and motifs" alongside natural materials and a warm colour palette. External and internal spaces are also naturally well-connected, furthering the concept's feeling of fluidity – the main deck and beach club are linked by two staircases on either side of the transom.
Onboard highlights include a large beach club with unfolding sea terraces on both sides of the beam, with the terraces extending all the way to the stern of the yacht. Crowning the yacht is a 400-square-metre sundeck that’s equipped with numerous lounging, dining and relaxation areas. It is served by a pair of elevators, providing increased accessibility to owners and guests alike.
According to Sebastiano Fanizza, Benetti's CCO, the spacious sundeck was born from the demands of clients looking for a liveable and large al fresco space to enjoy. Elsewhere, the foredeck has a recessed seating area and there is a transverse swimming pool on the aft, just above the beach club.
Like many other Benetti yachts, Project Oro would be fitted with hybrid propulsion. With a GT of around 2,500, the yacht would be the sixth-largest custom project ever built by Benetti.
Benetti also used the Monaco Yacht Show to detail new developments in its B.Yond and Motopanfilo series, as well as reveal a full-custom, Espen Øino-designed project.
