First Sanlorenzo 57Steel superyacht under construction

Italian yard Sanlorenzo has begun construction on the first 56.7 metre Sanlorenzo 57Steel.

Designed by Zuccon International Project, first unit is underway at the builder’s La Spezia based shipyard. Key features include a straight bow, 1000GT interior and five decks. Sanlorenzo estimated the model has twice the volume as the 52 Steel model.

Additionally, the 57Steel will feature an “innovative layout” that disrupts the traditional configuration, the yard said.

The wheelhouse, which usually sits forward of the upper deck, has been moved to a dedicated bridge deck. The upper deck meanwhile is dedicated to the owner’s use, with a 54 sqm owner’s cabin overlooking a private deck.

The new layout also allows the inclusion of a full beam VIP cabin forward of the main deck that can be used as a second owner’s cabin. Elsewhere, the tender garage has been moved forward to the bow and is large enough to accommodate tenders measuring up to 7.5 metres.

A swimming pool with a translucent bottom sits at the stern, sending natural light through the water into the 110 sqm beach club below. Accommodation is for a total of 14 guests in seven guest cabins, while a dedicated service deck sits below the lower deck.

Zuccon International Project co-founder, Bernardo Zuccon, said: “The versatility of use that distinguishes the spaces onboard is a key element of the 57Steel, which makes it possible to satisfy the many requests of a diverse and multicultural market like that of superyachts.

“A model in which there is no ostentation of the brand and whose external lines are defined and extremely fluid, transparent and clear, in which the language of the shipyard shines through.”

The Sanlorenzo 57Steel will be fitted with a hybrid propulsion package for a top speed of 16.5 knots.
