Poetry: Sinot presents 130m concept ahead of Monaco Yacht Show

Dutch studio Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design has lifted the lid on a new 129.6 metre concept that will be officially presented at the Monaco Yacht Show 2022.

Named Poetry, the concept focuses on creating an owner-orientated space that is “less formal and more like a home”, according to designer Sander Sinot.

The yacht will have a beam of 19 metres, a maximum speed of 17.5 knots and accommodation for up to 14 guests in seven cabins. There is further accommodation for up to 47 crew.

To achieve the “home on the water” ethos, the yacht’s layout is open-plan and fluid, with plenty of natural light that floods in through floor-to-ceiling windows.

To maximise light elsewhere, Poetry has movable shades in the deckheads that filter and direct daylight into the interior. When the sun sets, artificial lighting is carefully controlled to create an ambient setting. “Light is orchestrated into scenes which are functional, while subconsciously supporting social settings,” the studio explained.

The configuration differs from a traditional layout, with the wheelhouse located on the bow instead of the upper deck, which frees up this area to be used exclusively by the owner. Privacy is another key cornerstone of this superyacht concept and the secluded owner’s deck means “the owner and his or her loved ones have the entire deck for themselves,” according to Sinot.

One of the yacht’s onboard highlights is the beach club, which has been conceived as a multi-deck relaxation zone complete with an infinity pool, extendable swim platform and six huge fold-down hatches. The pool is saltwater and is created by lowering one of the hatches under the sea level, extending a filtering bulwark and allowing the seawater to flood in

Aft of the beach club is an expansive spa zone that’s fitted with a Hammam, sauna, gym and beauty saloon. Here, there are facilities for hairdressing, nail treatments and massages.

“Poetry represents a next generation yacht design”, Sinot added. “The strong exterior lines of Poetry are driven by hydrodynamics and architecture – a solid nautical platform, hosting an open-space plan defined by three-dimensional thinking, to precisely accommodate functions, needs, and desires. Transparency and openness are the hallmarks of the superstructure, offering undisturbed views and unobstructed deck space fore, aft, port, and starboard side.”

Sinot Architecture & Design has worked on almost thirty superyacht projects over the years, the most recent being the interiors of 117 metre Infinity, the current Oceanco flagship.
