This year’s Superyacht Charities Ball was another resounding success, raising over £80,000 for charity, taking the total to over £1 million raised in the last 10 years.
The 8 March event, held in partnership with BOAT International, brought together over 450 leading figures in yachting to support several outstanding causes. These included Scaramouche, a groundbreaking youth sailing and yachting project based in an inner city state school in North London; BATS (Blind at Sea), which offers sea-based activities for blind and visually impaired individuals in Cornwall; Oarsome Chance, supporting disadvantaged young people in Portsmouth, Gosport and Havant; and SYC’s grassroots initiative, Cash 4 Causes, dedicated to fostering the growth of small, non-government-funded non-profit organisations.
The evening kicked off in style with pre-dinner drinks sponsored by Compass Tenders and a warm welcome from the Chairperson before being ushered upstairs for the main event supported by headline sponsors Bergman Design House, Döhle Yachts, ISC, LA Marine and Peninsula. Guests enjoyed a lavish three-course banquet, followed by a mesmerising performance from international vocalist Ben Moss.
The excitement continued with a live auction featuring incredible prizes, including a standout two-day Superstars event at the prestigious five-star Gleneagles, hosted by rugby legends and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly podcast hosts Mike Tindall, James Haskell and Alex Payne.
The evening’s fundraising wrapped up with an exciting after-dinner raffle, generously sponsored by Cecil Wright. Guests then descended to the Starboard Card after-party and danced into the early hours at Mary’s Stadium in Southampton, capturing unforgettable moments with a photo booth and an immersive 360-degree video platform.
Founded in 2015, Superyacht Charities continues to grow year on year. The charity hosts multiple events throughout the year, including the annual Cricket Challenge – sponsored by Magnus Marine - the Seafarers Supper in Palma, the Golf event in Palma and an Antigua Sundowners soiree for the Antigua Yacht Show.
