A year after joining the Sanlorenzo Group, Nautor Swan has unveiled a €35 million investment programme, two new models and an expanded international presence.
The move is part of Sanlorenzo’s wider strategy to broaden its portfolio beyond motor yachts, bringing fresh impetus to one of sailing’s most recognisable names. The investment, running from 2024 to 2027, includes new production sites in Brescia and Viareggio, a headquarters in Milan, and additional offices in Monaco, Cannes, the USA and Palma de Mallorca.
Massimo Perotti, Sanlorenzo chairman and CEO, said the acquisition marked the start of “Swan’s most exciting era”, adding: “We are proud to be the custodians of a remarkable legacy, preserving the heritage and craftsmanship that define Swan, while guiding its next generation.”
The Cannes Yachting Festival saw the world premiere of the Swan 51 and a first look at the Swan 73. The former is the smallest model in Swan’s performance cruiser line, designed with refined balance and handling for long-distance cruising and racing. It follows a lineage that began with the original 1981 Swan 51 – the first collaboration between Nautor and German Frers. The new Swan 73, also designed by Frers, marks the yard’s return to the 70-foot segment for the first time in more than 20 years.
Sanlorenzo is also backing Swan’s expansion in the US, with a potential new base in Pensacola under consideration. A dedicated ClubSwan 28 racing calendar has been confirmed for Newport and Pensacola in 2026, strengthening the brand’s North American presence. Globally, Swan is leveraging Sanlorenzo’s distribution network, with new sales points in Newport, Fort Lauderdale, the Mediterranean and Asia-Pacific.
Giovanni Pomati, Nautor Swan CEO, said the partnership had already accelerated growth. “The energy and resources of the past year have transformed our horizons,” he said. “We are moving forward with great speed, strengthening Swan’s product portfolio and securing our heritage while preparing the brand for strong international growth.”
With Sanlorenzo’s investment, Nautor Swan is entering its most significant period of change since the first German Frers-designed Swans of the early 1980s, positioning the yard for an expanded role in both sailing and lifestyle sectors.
