The United Kingdom High Court has dismissed an appeal to release the 58.5-metre motor yacht Phi following her arrest in March 2022 as a result of UK sanction law.
The appeal was filed in early May 2023 and states that three claimants, represented by UK firm Jaffa & Co, challenge the legalities of the initial arrest and two subsequent arrest reviews. As well as “sett[ing] aside [the] sanctions decision”, the appeal also sought damages from the government.
