On a seemingly inconsequential day in the late 1970s, Prince Rainier III of Monaco paid an early lunch visit to the Keusseoglou estate. The family’s patriarch, Charalambos A Keusseoglou, sat at the helm of a prominent shipping and cruise line business, and the prince was eager to hear how he might garner greater cruise ship activity in Monaco. What neither party could know was that their discussion would lead to the city-state’s rise as the undisputed yachting capital of the world.
