EYOS Expeditions founder Rob McCallum to speak at Explorer Yachts Summit 2025

Rob McCallum, founder of expedition specialists EYOS Expeditions will be speaking at the Explorer Yachts Summit at the Yacht Club de Monaco on 13 November 2025.

As a founder of EYOS, McCallum has spent over three decades planning, managing and leading expeditions across every continent. His work in the Arctic and Antarctic includes several record-breaking expeditions to the Ross Sea and visits to the South Pole, as well as transits of the North West Passage and the first descent to the deepest point of the Arctic Ocean. In 2023, Rob led the ‘Interstellar Expedition’ for Harvard University in Papua New Guinea, successfully locating fragments of a meteorite that crashed into the ocean which featured materials unmatched to any existing alloys in our solar system.

Dubbed the "deepest-diving New Zealander," McCallum has also led deep submergence missions to some of the ocean's most extreme locations, including the Five Deeps Expedition, all of the world’s 10,000-metre-plus trenches, the world’s deepest shipwreck (6500 metres), RMS Titanic and battleship Bismarck. McCallum also serves as a trustee of Nekton/Ocean Census, founding partner of Yachts for Science and an ambassador for the New Zealand Nature Fund.

McCallum will join the panel discussion "Beyond the Poles — What Untapped Destinations Are Left in the World?", sharing first-hand insights from decades of experience guiding expeditions to some of the planet’s most remote and challenging environments.

The Explorer Yachts Summit, held in association with Damen Yachting, is the only international summit dedicated solely to the explorer yachting sector. Attendees can expect an exciting lineup covering all areas within the sector.

This year’s programme will feature an analysis of the explorer market supported by BOATPro data, alongside fireside chats with owners and sessions on designing for the extremes and underwater exploration. Further speakers and topics will be announced in the coming weeks.
