Informa Prestige launches dedicated Future of Refit event for 2027

Informa Prestige has announced the launch of The Future of Refit, a new business-to-business event dedicated exclusively to the global superyacht refit and maintenance sector. The inaugural edition will take place at Monaco's Grimaldi Forum from 31 March to 2 April 2027, alongside an on-water display of refit yachts hosted in the marina of Yacht Club de Monaco, which is partnering on the event. BOAT International Media will support as a media partner.

A dedicated platform for the refit market

Designed as a spring fixture in the superyacht calendar, the event will bring together shipyards, designers, owners, captains, suppliers and technical specialists through a combination of conference sessions, exhibitions and networking.

A central feature of the programme will be Refit Live, an interactive forum featuring keynote presentations, panel discussions, workshops, case studies and masterclasses focused on yacht refurbishment, technical upgrades and modernisation. BOAT International will contribute to the editorial programme, hosting a series of daily content sessions.

According to Informa Prestige, the event responds to the growing commercial importance of the refit market, which is estimated to be worth between $3 billion and $5 billion annually and is forecast to grow by six to nine per cent each year. The company said refit activity now accounts for approximately 36 per cent of earnings across the superyacht industry, supported by an active global fleet of more than 6,000 yachts over 30 metres.

Industry leaders back the initiative

Toby Moore, chief executive officer of Informa Prestige, said the event addresses a gap in the existing superyacht calendar. "Refit is no longer a secondary consideration within the superyacht industry – it is one of its defining economic realities," he said. ""The owners, operators and specialists who make up this market have, for too long, had to conduct their most important professional conversations in the margins of events designed for other purposes."

Moore continued: "The Future of Refit addresses that unmet need directly – bringing together the full refit ecosystem around a dedicated programme covering refit, refurbishment and modernisation in all their dimensions, including Refit Live, an interactive designer masterclass that puts the creative and technical disciplines of refit centre stage."

Part of Monaco's advanced yachting vision

The event forms part of the Yacht Club de Monaco's wider Monaco, Capital of Advanced Yachting initiative, which aims to promote innovation, sustainability and technical development across the superyacht sector. It joins existing initiatives including the SEA Index environmental certification programme and the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge.

Informa Prestige said it will work with shipyards, equipment manufacturers and refit specialists over the coming months to develop the programme, with further details on exhibitors and speakers to be announced ahead of the inaugural event.
