Everything you need to know about the Young Designer of the Year Award 2025

The Young Designer of the Year Award celebrates the original concepts of student and trainee designers from around the globe. With the most recent edition sponsored by Feadship, this highly regarded award tasks young designers with a realistic client request to challenge their ideas, technical ability and aptitude for delivery. The brief is set to provide valuable and authentic insight into the reality of working as a designer within the superyacht industry. 

The task

Details of the task for the 2025 award are yet to be revealed. For some inspiration, take a look at the 2024 winner, Indonesian designer Pradipta Hakim.

The entry requirements

The Young Designer of the Year Award 2025 is open to designers who will be 28 years old or younger on the 1st January 2025 and entrants must not have been employed for financial gain in a yacht design studio. Entries for the Young Designer of the Year Award 2025  will open soon and the winners will be announced at the Superyacht Design Festival.

The judges

The Young Designer of the Year Award is judged by a panel consisting of internationally known yacht designers. Last year, entrants were reviewed by representatives from the likes of Winch Design, Tim Heywood Designs and Reymond Langton Design.
