Every month, superyacht owners reveal where they are in the world and share their future plans. This month, BOAT catches up with Ilia Rigas, the owner of the 49.8-metre Perini Navi yacht Almyra II, about her plans for the upcoming second Cyclades Cup, which will take place 12-15 June 2025 in Antiparos, Greece.

How’s planning going for the second Cyclades Cup?
Very well – we’re expecting a bigger fleet this year, between 15 and 17 boats. We’ve got some previous racers returning and lots of new faces joining. Antiparos is only a small place so we want to try and keep the feeling of exclusivity, while at the same time making sure people take this seriously as an event that will return each and every year.

The challenge we’re facing this year is people without boats or with motor yachts want to charter sailing yachts for the regatta, but they can’t find the boats! If you own a sailing yacht and want to pick up a few charters, consider sending it to Antiparos!

How’s your own sailing yacht?
Almyra II had a refit period over the winter, with a big refresh of her interior and exterior. We put a lot of effort into her technical areas, upgrading all over the place to bring her up to 2025 standards. She is still the dream boat for our family.

It seems everyone is talking about Greece. Do you feel the excitement?
I think it’s a general recognition that in Greece there are still lots of places where you can be entirely by yourself, with calm water and no swell, and enjoy true tranquillity. There aren’t many other places in the Med that you can say that about.
