Bradford Marine signs superyacht Yianoula for sale

Talking to Tucker Fallon at Bradford Marine Yacht Sales, I learn that the long-time owner of the 27.4m motor yacht Yianoula now barely uses her and she’s new on the sales market.

Yianoula was built in 1981 to an Ed Monk design as the personal yacht of Dave Christensen but is documented as a Westport from the days when Christensen yachts first started building. A veteran of two transatlantic crossings, this three stateroom expedition yacht has had constant upgrades over the years.

Accommodation is for up to eight guests in a master suite and two identical twin cabins with Pullman berths while twin 236hp Volvo engines give her a cruising speed of 10 knots.

With no elliptical windows, no high gloss interior woodwork and no Euro design to be found anywhere on board, this expedition yacht will appeal to the traditional yachtsman who wants a classic flush deck design. Yianoula is asking $949,000.

Tucker says: ‘She’s looking really good for a gracious older lady.'  I liked that line so much I tried it on my wife. Guess who’s sleeping in the spare room tonight?
