3 July 2019 • Written by Malcolm MacLean

The classic fantail motor yacht Montrevel has been listed for sale by Jody O’Brien and Josh Gulbranson at Fraser.

Built in steel and aluminium to RINA class by French yard Ateliers et Forges de l'Ouest, Montrevel was delivered in 1959 with many upgrades and refits since, most recently in 2019

A completely new interior features extensive use of exotic woods and fine marbles accommodating 10 guests in five cabins comprising a main deck master suite, three doubles and a twin cabin. All guest cabins have entertainment centres, Samsung television screens and en suite bathroom facilities while the crew quarters sleep six staff aboard this yacht for sale.

Montrevel is asking $7,900,000

The main saloon and dining area are covered by dark, rich, wood floors.  To port is a large U-shaped leather sectional settee and an oversized coffee table.  Moving forward is the dining table with seating for ten guests while above the dining table is a vaulted ceiling with large skylights that allow natural light to brighten the interior space. To starboard is a hallway that leads to the galley and master bedroom.

Aft on the upper deck is a large covered area that doubles as an informal seating area or a formal dining set-up that can accommodate 16 guests. The seating is a teak, custom-built arrangement with tables that convert from coffee tables to dining tables and there is a custom-built barbecue featuring two infrared burners.

The skylounge is a large, bright room panelled in mahogany with built-in bookshelves, an antique desk and comfortable sofa.  This room is very much like a gentleman’s library and currently serves as the owner’s study. Her top speed is a sedate 11knots and she boasts a maximum cruising range of 1,400 nautical miles at 10 knots powered by twin 340hp Caterpillar 3196-660-TA diesel engines.

Lying in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Montrevel is asking $7,900,000.
