The 40.82 metre motor yacht Senshu Maru, listed for sale by John DeCaro at All Ocean Yachts, has been sold with 26 North Yachts representing the buyer.

Built in steel by Japanese yard Niigata, she was delivered in 1997 to serve as an oceanographic research vessel and was converted into a luxurious superyacht in 2012. Generous accommodation is for 10 guests in five cabins laid out as a master suite on the upper deck, while on the main deck are two doubles and two twins — all with entertainment centres, LG smart television screens and full en-suite bathroom facilities. Quarters for eight crew in four cabins lie below deck.

Senshu Maru was asking $2,495,000

The large main saloon has a full wet bar to starboard with a fridge and wine cooler and there is comfortable seating in front of an entertainment centre including a 61-inch LED television screen. To port is a separate formal dining area and all the lighting on this yacht is LED.

The very spacious aft deck has a large dining table, a full wet bar forward, seating, a day bed and two lounge chairs with cocktail tables. Aft is a set of centreline stairs leading down to the broad swimming platform. This area can be used as an al fresco entertaining and dining space or, in case of poor weather, can be completely covered as shelter against the elements. The deck is sheathed in wide-planked Japanese cedar wood, installed in 2012.

A single 1,200hp Niigata diesel engine gives her a cruising speed of 10 knots and a transoceanic range.

Senshu Maru was asking $2,495,000.
