Jeremy Bottau at Ocean Independence sends word that he's listed for sale a hybrid 45 metre motor yacht project Columbus 45s.

Currently in build at Italian superyacht yard Palumbo, she is being constructed in aluminium to RINA class with naval architecture by Hydro Tec and exterior styling by Sergio Cutolo. MCA compliant,

accommodation is luxurious for 10 guests in five staterooms consisting of a master suite, two double staterooms and two twins, all with en suite facilities.

Hybrid propulsion comes via twin 16V 2000 M94 MTU engines giving her a range of 3,000 nautical miles at 12 knots while two Siemens Ecoprop 100Kw electric engines will give her a cruising speed of eight knots and a range of 7,500 nautical miles at 7.5 knots. Coupled with the aerodynamic lightweight hull, this system enables the yachts to run on her generators at low speeds ensuring low environmental impact.

Jeremy Bottau comments: 'Combining new, vibrant lines and cutting-edge design, the 45S hybrid embodies a fresh and dynamic approach to yachting enhanced by spacious interiors and fantastically versatile open areas. She expresses Columbus Yachts' approach of enjoying the sea while caring for the environment.'

Due for delivery in 2016, the Columbus 45S hybrid is asking €21.5 million.
