Michael White at Ocean Independence brings news that the 40m Perini Navi sailing yacht Clan VI is now very seriously for sale and her owner will accept offers under €3 million on her, although her listing price is €3,850,000 VAT paid. The window of opportunity is small, however, as if not sold by the end of the first week in June, the yacht will be withdrawn from the market.
Clan VI has the distinction of being the first yacht ever built by Perini Navi in 1983 and was launched as Felicità. She was the archetype for all the Perini sailing yachts that would follow, and the first fully automated large cruising yacht. True to form she has circumnavigated the world.
Built in steel with an aluminium superstructure, this motor sailer ketch was designed by Perini Navi and Dick Carter and has been refitted twice - in 2004 and 2008. Her well-proportioned interior sleeps 12 guests in five cabins and carries six crew.
Clan VI is lying in Viareggio.
