Performance yachts prepare for Race 3 on Day 3 of Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta

6 June 2012

It’s Day 3 at the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta in Porto Cervo, organised by Boat International Media, and for once the docks of the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda are a scene of relative tranquillity – today is a lay day for the Cruising division superyachts. Owners, their guests and crew are enjoying a day of relaxation, either catching up on boat maintenance or, as in most cases, heading off to enjoy a day at the beach.

Meanwhile, the Performance division superyachts are preparing for their third race. Conditions are good, with smooth water and a pleasant 10 knots blowing in from the northeast. The race committee is expecting the wind to switch to the south at any moment, but is hopeful of getting a race start on time, with a warning signal at 1200.
