A call to Pieter van der Weide at Hoek Brokerage brings news that he’s listed the second 35.2m F-class sailing yacht for sale.
The yacht, currently in build at Bloemsma Aluminiumbouw, will be an identical sistership to Firefly, which was launched in the spring of 2011. Combining the spirit of the J class with the performance of a maxi racer, the design brief for these race classics called for the smallest sized vessel that could beat a J on the water in both light and heavy winds.
The F-class is the result of a long research project by the Hoek Design office, developing 15 different yachts with varying length, beam and displacement, sail area and draught. The goal was to develop the smallest possible yacht with the above water looks of a J class yacht that would be faster at all points of sail. The new yacht will be built by Claasen Shipyards, most recently responsible for the J class yacht Lionheart.
Her asking price is €4.95 million.
